Born in Braga (1986), she began her musical studies at the age of seven with private piano lessons, entering the Calouste Gulbenkian Conservatory of Music in Braga at age eleven. During secondary school, she pursued Composition. She graduated in Composition from the Lisbon School of Music (ESML), where she studied with several prominent Portuguese contemporary music composers. In 2012, she completed her Master’s Degree in Music, under the supervision of António Pinho Vargas.
Her compositions have been performed by various renowned performers and ensembles such as: the Gulbenkian Orchestra, the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra, the Orquestra do Algarve, the Orquestra Clássica do Sul, the Lisbon Sinfonietta, the Ricercare Choir, the Sond’Ar-te Electric Ensemble, the Contratempus Quartet, the Trio of the Sond’Ar-te Electric Ensemble, Síntese – Contemporary Music Group, the Braga District Chamber Orchestra, the Portuguese Guitar and Mandolin Orchestra, among others.
In 2012, she presented the short opera Inês morre at the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos, directed by Luís Miguel Cintra and conducted by João Paulo Santos. During the 2017-2018 season, she was the Young Associate Composer at the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos, under the guidance of Luís Tinoco. She is co-creator of the Informal Opera Festival, which held its first edition in 2021, where she premiered a chamber opera titled Oráculos & Ladainhas. In November 2022, she premiered the opera Lugar Comum, addressing the theme of violence against women, with a libretto by Mário João Alves, stage direction by António Durães, and performed by the Contratempus Quartet.
Recent projects include composing a new opera, commissioned by the Braga Sinfonietta, which will premiere in October 2026.
She has been a teacher at the Calouste Gulbenkian Conservatory of Music in Braga since 2013.
