A querela dos grilos

A Querela dos Grilos portrays the conflict of two muses, anguished by their lack of work and thoroughly bored, until a distressed artist requests their services. Surprised by the artist’s call, the muses Inspiration and Originality react with flustered euphoria. In this rush of events, enchanted characters emerge, such as fairy godmothers and talking crickets; the recitatives transform into rap moments, and the musicians take on the role of the chorus in Greek tragedies, commenting on and instigating the action; in the end, even the audience is called upon to intervene in the confusion.
